I know I often talk about the beauty of youth with their wide open perspectives on art and their ease at trying new things, but age brings its’ own beauty in all things, as we have learned more of what life can teach us. Youth and age are actually two sides of the same coin, one not better than the other and both needing the other for balance.
Youth gives us courage and wide eyed wonder of life. There is something quite amazing about seeing things through the eyes of a child! They see and they conquer! This is what life should be about, testing, trying and learning! That I can do anything idealism that has caused great changes in our world. When you are young anything is possible! Everything can be! When we are young we are often like a record needle jumping all over the place looking for that perfect groove to ride.
Age evens out some of that endless seeking energy and of course I like to think it also brings a certain amount of wisdom. It takes living and experiencing to truly know yourself. Until we experience things we can’t know what fits us best. So it is a gift to age actually, because we finally figure out who we are and what really matters to us.
Only living gives you the perspective to appreciate life in full, so I think that is why as we mature we mellow and relax. We don’t let the the little things annoy us quite so much, we don’t challenge everything because we know where we fit! Age gives us the ability to smile at the antics of youth as they challenge life!
I guess that is the natural sync of things as they are meant to be. We spend our youthful days looking ahead , challenging and experiencing and our more mature days looking back, remembering and knowing that one day those youthful ones will be where we are and they too will be smiling at life!
It kinda makes sense of the whole thing to know that every season of our lives has meaning and rhyme. Age gives us tolerance and understanding and youth gives us energy and fearlessness.
Both give us hope!
